Over two years, two teams of boys from Winchester College fundraised and helped build the residential accommodation at the Lamdon Jamyang School in Khaltse, Ladakh. Accommodation is so necessary for the children here as many live long distances away from the school, and previously had to walk the lengthy journey there and back each day. One little boy's journey took almost 2 hours each way and consequently he fell asleep at his desk throughout the day. Thanks to the students of Winchester College, the new accommodation will dramatically increase learning and change the lives of many children in Khaltse.
We are currently fundraising for an extension to the hostel to accommodate more girls who are desperate to attend the school. The extension will include a bathroom and washing facilities and should allow numbers for residential students to increase to 60 and more. Please Donate if you can and help more children go to school.
