The Lotus Flower Trust is a new charity formed specifically to help disadvantaged young people in the more remote areas of India. Our objective is to educate and support these children by building new, or renovating old, schools, homes and orphanages. We will give  the children the opportunity to further their education to a standard only dreamt about before. For the homeless children and orphans, this means the chance of a home and of a better future where before there was none.

We also offer YOU the opportunity to be part of a project. You must be over 16 and really want to do something that is different and worthwhile.

You will have a chance to work with, and live amongst, the people of the most vibrant and colourful nation on earth.

It would be impossible to try and tell you exactly what your expedition will involve as they are all so different and include so many experiences. We would normally expect to spend 14 days in-country: three days to arrive at the project site with cultural experiences along the way; up to eight days working on the agreed project site; and the final three days returning to the start point, with further local involvement.

The actual itinerary will very much depend on the project site, its location, the weather and the environment (jungle, mountains or desert). Cultural experiences will be negotiated with you/the party and may include visits to historical sites, cultural events and exchanges. Community involvement  is very much the flavour of all our visits to India.

All costs will be arranged on an individual group basis, but it is important to remember that Lotus Flower Trust is a charity and a "not for profit" organisation.
