Just Ask!
These experiences are open to anyone who can meet a few simple rules and guidelines.
Programmes can be physically challenging and all participants must have a good level of fitness. A medical form, signed by your doctor is required and there will be a discussion with the "Lotus Flower" doctor who will accompany the trip. Extensive medical supplies and equipment are always carried.
"Health&Safety" there are only two rules, "Acceptable or Unacceptable" This code is rigorously applied.
Our "programme support" will provide the information you will need to obtain visas, insurance, injections AND FLIGHTS.
Insurance is mandatory, at your expense, and must be seen to include casualty evacuation cover.
We will arrange all your in-country requirements. This includes all transport, coaches, jeeps, trains and ponies,
accommodation in hotels, tents or hostels and all food, cultural visits, trekking routes and community exchanges. We provide risk assessment and repatriation supervision if required.
You will be looked after by a very experienced team of (primarily) Buddhist camp personnel, a camp site manager, trek guides, experienced cooks and climbers, if needed. The behavioural code of the programme will be based on the Buddhist philosophy. Clothing must be in keeping with the standards observed locally.
The Lotus Flower Trust hopes those taking part will contribute to the cost of the materials needed for the projects.
The team size is flexible but ideally between 15 and 20 persons to ensure worthwhile support to the local builders and artisans. Teams can be made up of individuals or groups.
The timing of all projects will be determined by the season.
